ZAMBIA

Waterfalls, wildlife, adrenaline, relaxation – Zambia provides it all. A large country in South central Africa, Zambia has many unique experiences to tick off your bucket list. It’s one of Africas safest countries and is off the beaten track so you won’t be competing with other visitors for the best view. From the magnificent Victoria Falls to wildlife mecca in South Luangwa National Park, you can choose a customized African experience that suits you.

Wildlife

Zambia’s National Parks offer beautiful wildlife experiences with low visitor densities to savor extraordinary moments. Safari guides are well trained with lots of experience to share their knowledge of the secrets of bush. Zambia pioneered walking safaris – a way to slow down, heighten your perception of sounds and appreciate the smaller gifts from nature. Night drives allow you to enter a different world of suspense, listening for the call of a lion starting to hunt, or the baboon’s warning bark alerting you to the presence of a nearby leopard. You have a choice of National Parks for wildlife – each with their unique attributes. South Luangwa is a premier safari destination with high densities of wildlife and seasonal variations. The Kafue is vast and has the highest diversity of mammals. In addition to typical land activities Lower Zambezi offers river safaris – either by boat or canoe. Kasanka is home to the largest bat migration and Liuwa Plains has the second largest wildebeest migration in the world. Most the camps are unfenced to immerse you in the wild.

Adrenalin

Livingstone is the gateway to the natural wonder of Victoria Falls. Some of the activities include Class 5 white water rafting, bungee jumping, gorge swinging, helicopter and microlight flights and even swimming at the edge of the falls. You can experience the wilder side of nature through canoe and walking safaris in other regions.

Relaxing

Not to be underestimated, relaxing in nature is a wonderful way to regroup one’s thoughts. Enjoy sitting by a rippling river listening and observing birds and other wildlife or treat yourself to a bush spa experience.

Livingstone

Bwanji Africa Zambia - Victoria Falls in all its beauty

Victoria Falls is one of the several natural wonders of the world and is known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders. This is one of the must-see destinations in Africa. The wide meandering Zambezi rushes forth over the edge plummeting into a basalt gorge 100 meters below. The water is then pushed through the narrow Batoka Gorge underneath the historic Victoria Falls Bridge. These class 5 rapids are famous for their world class white water rafting and for the courageous you can bungee jump off the Victoria Falls bridge a swing through gorge.

There is a plethora of activities to experience at the falls, enough to keep you busy for a week or more. A truly memorable experience is a helicopter or micro-light flight above the falls. It is also one of the few places you can view a lunar rainbow caused by moonlight shining through the spray. At lower water levels there are also two pools you can swim in at the top of falls looking down the sheer drop to the bottom of the falls.
